Appalachia Service Project (ASP)
We are a group of students who aim to have some fun while making homes in the Appalachian region "Warmer, Safer, and Drier." If you enjoy working with your hands and learning/practicing construction techniques then this is the club for you. No construction skills necessary just some interest and enthusiasm.
Building Women in Construction
The Building Women in Construction club is a student-run organization dedicated to fulfilling its mission statement: to inspire women to become future leaders in construction through personal, professional, and academic successes.
Building Goodness Foundation
Building Goodness Foundation is a non-profit construction service organization, specializing in small-scale community-based projects. We pair industry professionals with passionate volunteers to provide struggling non-profits with a new or renovated space.
Construction Management Association of America (CMAA)
Formed in 1982, CMAA (Construction Management Association of America) is North America's only organization dedicated exclusively to the interests of professional Construction and Program Management. Our chapter aims to empower construction management students for a fufilling future career in the industry.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity at Virginia Tech works closely with the New River Valley affiliate to help members of our community who are struggling financially. We also coordinate and plan Shack-A-Thon, which has helped us raise over $50,000 toward our mission in four years.
International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB)
CIB is the worldwide network of building and construction experts who improve their performance through international co-operation and information exchange with their peers to improve the quality and impact of research and innovation activities in the sector.
National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC)
NAMC is the oldest minority construction trade association in the United States. The association represents the interests of millions of skilled minority workers across the country. Through a network of local chapters and in collaboration with strategic and corporate partnerships, NAMC assists members with building capacity by providing access to opportunity, advocacy, and contractor development training.
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
We are an organization dedicated to the uplift of African American students in all fields of engineering. We welcome the entire STEM student body to participate in the amazing benefits that NSBE has to offer. Our mission here at NSBE is “To increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.”
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at VT (SHPE)
Our mission is to empower the Hispanic community through STEM awareness, access, support, and development. Our vision is for a world where Hispanics are highly valued and influential as the leading innovators, scientists, mathematicians, and engineers.
Society of Women Engineers at VT (SWE)
SWE at VT contributes to the campus, the community, and its members. SWE participates in many service projects aimed at encouraging young women to consider a career in engineering as well as projects that help the environment and the New River Valley community. SWE creates a network of women engineers throughout Virginia Tech and demonstrates the value of diversity on this campus. SWE also offers scholarships, career advice, mentoring, and professional, social, and service opportunities for its members.
