As part of thier senior requirements, Construction Engineering and Management (CEM) students take our Capstone Course where they apply theory over two semesters working collaboratively to develop a competitive proposal summarizing their design and construction solutions.  The top five team finalists present to industry leaders on Capstone Day. Learn more about the requirements here.

The CEM capstone project has two parts. First is preconstruction planning for the Blacksburg Transit – Multi-Modal Transit Facility (MMTF) currently under construction on the Virginia Tech campus. In the second component, teams re-imagine the congested Prices Fork Road and Stanger Street intersection to improve safety and congestion for all modes of transportation.
