Ashley Williamson

Responsibilities

Ashley Williamson serves as the Communication and Industry Relations Manager for Myers-Lawson School of Construction. She serves as the communications and marketing lead for the school and runs the social media accounts. She also plans and coordinates the schools two career fairs along with industry board meetings, awards ceremonies and Hardhatting.

Education

Ashley holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in Multimedia Journalism and the other in Sociology from Virginia Tech. She is OSHA 30 certified.

Background

Ashley joined Virginia Tech in 2021 and most recently served as a News Producer for WSLS 10 before joining the Myers-Lawson School of Construction in her current role. Her prior experience includes writing articles, creating social media content, and graphic design. In 2020, she won a Regional Emmy Award for a breaking news, newscast she produced.
