Ashley Williamson

Responsibilities

Ashley Williamson serves as the Communication and Industry Relations Manager for Myers-Lawson School of Construction. She is the voice and visual manager of the school's social media, marketing and communications efforts. Williamson manages the Myers-Lawson School of Construction website, social media accounts, and communications content. She also manages the events and outreach team. In addition to her communications role, she work with industry and alumni to increase engagement with students and research.

Education

Williamson holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in Multimedia Journalism and the other in Sociology from Virginia Tech. She is OSHA 30 certified.

Background

Williamson joined Virginia Tech in 2021 and most recently served as a News Producer for WSLS 10 before joining the Myers-Lawson School of Construction in her current role. Her prior experience includes writing articles, creating social media content, and graphic design. In 2020, she won a Regional Emmy Award for a breaking news, newscast she produced.
