Role and Background
Ashley Johnson serves as Program Chair and Associate Professor of Practice for Construction Engineering and Managementin the Myers-Lawson School of Construction. She joined Virginia Tech in 2015.
Johnson’s teaching focuses on construction engineering, management, and lean construction. In her current role, Johnson is exploring emerging practices in construction engineering and management education. She aims to impact the construction industry through the development of best practices for the next generation of professionals.
Previously, Johnson served as a Project Manager for Integrated Project Services, Inc. and a Project Engineer at CRB Builders, focusing on design-build projects in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries before joining the school of construction.
Education
Ashley Johnson holds a MBA from Florida State University and two B.S. degrees in construction engineering and eanagement and civil engineering with a concentration in transportation from North Carolina State University.
