Role and Background
Dr. Tripp Shealy serves as an Associate Professor for Civil and Environmental Engineering. He joined Virginia Tech in 2015.
Dr. Shealy’s research investigates engineering decision making at the system, behavioral, and cognitive levels to encourage less carbon intensive and more user-centered infrastructure system solutions. He aims to bridges data science and cognitive psychology to engineering for sustainability. Dr. Shealy apply concepts from behavioral science, neuroscience, and data science to help inform infrastructure design and delivery for more sustainable outcomes.
Previously, Dr. Shealy served as Engineering and Technical Programs for The Fedral Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH).
Education
Dr. Shealy holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University
