Role and Background
Ron Wakefield serves as Professor of Construction, Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor International, and Dean of the School of Property, Construction, and Project Management for RMIT University, Melbourne. He joined the Myers-Lawson School of Construction as an Affiliated Faculty in 2024.Â
Ron Wakefield's research focuses on process simulation and modeling, residential and commercial construction, and uses of information technology in construction management. In his current teaching and research, Ron is exploring housing policies, industrial environments, and building technologies. He aims to impact housing supply shortages, safety in construction, and sustainability in the built environment. Ron is partnering with Brian Kleiner to collaborate on innovations in safe and sustainable building and construction.
Education
Ron Wakefield holds a Ph.D and B.E. (Hon 1) in Civil Engineering from the University of New South Wales and an MSE in Civil Engineering and Operations Research from Princeton University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, a registered member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, and a registered member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
