Larry Kraemer

Responsibilities

Larry Kraemer serves as an Adjunct Professor of Practice for Building Construction in the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech. 

Education

Larry Kraemer holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Virginia Tech and a Masters in Finance from Virginia Tech. 

Background

Larry Kraemer joined Virginia Tech in 2024 and most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for Harkins Builders. He continues his 35-year career at Harkins working part-time as a Training and Development Specialist and assisting with the Emerging Leaders Program. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Kraemer was responsible for Harkins' construction and preconstruction operations, overseeing the Multifamily, Commercial, Government, Northeast, and Southeast groups. He previously led the company's Preconstruction, Marketing, and Business Development departments, where he increasingly partnered with clients to find the best solutions for their development and construction needs.
