Degree

B.S. in Construction Engineering and Management

Why did you choose Virginia Tech?

"There is so much to love about Virginia Tech - the community, the BEAUTIFUL campus (and town, of course), the plethora of opportunities (through clubs, internships, research, and so much more), and just the fact that everyone is so happy to be a Hokie. While applying to colleges, I knew that I wanted to find a place that felt like home. Virginia Tech more than succeeded at that."

Why did you choose Construction Engineering and Management?

"I really appreciate how tangible working in construction is - the campus is our classroom! I thoroughly enjoy getting to go on site tours around Virginia Tech, how knowledgeable the professors are, and how tight-knit the MLSoC community is. Bishop-Favrao Hall (our academic building) is the best resource. It always has open study space, as well as other students likely working on the same class project as you."

Career Goals

"I hope to either assume a Project Engineer or VDC Engineer role upon graduation. Long term, I would hope to either become a lead Project Manager, or create and operate my own BIM models (and test new technologies through 3D printing, laser scanning, VR/AR, and drones!)."

What would you tell students who are interested in joining MLSoC?

"Join! College is all about exploring who you are, and what you want to do. MLSoC has the faculty and staff to help you successful no matter what that may look like. If something small is ever holding you back, it is never wrong to just go for it. Failure is not the end all be all!"
