Role and Background
William Thumm serves as an Adjunct Professor of Practice for Building Construction in the Myers Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech. Thumm joined Virginia Tech in 2024.
Prior to joining, Thumm was a leader in the construction business for over 32 years working for the New York City Transit Authority and with Hensel Phelps Construction Company. He has served 11 years on the Roger Williams University Construction Management Professional Advisory Board and held the Chairman position for four years.
Education
Thumm holds a M.S. in Mining Engineering from Columbia University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.
