Michael Oliver

Role and Background

Michael Oliver serves as the Assistant Professor of Practice for Building Construction. Oliver's teaching focuses on the Integrated Construction class and preparing students with the knowledge and soft skills needed to be leaders in the industry.

Oliver joined Virginia Tech in 2024 and most recently served as Project Manager for Paradise Energy Solutions before joining Building Construction.  In addition to his work with renewable energy, his prior experience included teaching high school mathematics and running his own residential remodeling company.

Education

Oliver holds a B.S. in Building Construction from Virginia Tech ('09) and a M.S. in Education from Radford University.
