The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, Blackburg, VA

About the Career Fair

The Construction Industry Career Fair is held during the Fall and Spring semesters. It invites both undergraduate and graduate students to engage with representatives from the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. These companies range from large international firms to small local businesses, covering various sectors such as commercial, heavy civil, residential, and specialty areas.

The event provides a platform for students to explore internships, co-op opportunities, part-time, and full-time positions. For employers, the Construction Industry Career Fair presents a valuable opportunity to meet our high-caliber students, known for their comprehensive understanding of construction principles, strong technical skills, and ability to contribute to a team from day one.

  • 100+ Companies Attending
  • 500+ Expected Students
  • 70 Majors of Interest

For Students

A wide range of companies hiring for full-time or internship positions in the AEC industries attend our career fair. This includes construction-related companies that work in residential, commercial, industrial, highway, land development, and specialty contractors, as well as civil engineering design firms.

Students in all majors interested in working in these and related areas are invited to attend the fair. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.

For Companies

The Myers-Lawson School of Construction's highly anticipated Construction Industry Career Fairs provide a unique opportunity for AEC professionals to connect with our talented students for career employment, internships, and co-op opportunities.

While the fair is heavily targeted for students in Building Construction, Construction Engineering and Management, and Civil Engineering, we invite students across the university from multiple majors.

Our career fairs are held at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Center twice a year. However, employers who can't attend the fair can still connect with our students by presenting information sessions on campus, purchasing resume books, or partnering with student groups. For details about upcoming sessions or to host one, don't hesitate to email us.

For updates, announcements, and registration information for our career fairs, consider joining our email list.
